It always amazes me how great and powerful the God that created the universe and created us is.
Today we heard a sermon on John 1: 1-5. What powerful verses these are!
- God is Logos (the Word),
- He has been since the beginning
- All is made through Him, and nothing is made without Him
- He is life- which is light
- Darkness shall not overcome (understand, overtake) light (which is life!)
What's more impressive and powerful than these verses is that God not only created all that is made, but He was incredibly creative, detailed, and loving when creating all that He made!
The video below reminded me of how little we are in comparison to all His creation... He is one AMAZING God!
The Awe Factor Of God - Francis Chan
Even more impressive, is that this SAME God
"... became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" John 1:14
and even with all the wonderful glories He has made (as shown above), He has numbered the hairs on our head (Matt. 10:30)
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE AND LOVING GOD WE HAVE THE HONOR TO SERVE!!!
1 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
7 all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
-Psalm 8
